Island Pharmaceuticals
Island Pharmaceuticals is mid clinical-stage drug repurposing company, focused on antiviral therapeutics for mosquito-borne infectious diseases such as Dengue, where there is a significant unmet medical need and major economic burden.
Island’s lead compound, Isla101, has been administered in 45 clinical trials including Phase I-II trials, in thousands of patients demonstrating an excellent safety profile and has been approved for human clinical trials by several international regulators.
On April 13th, 2021 the company went public in the Australia Stock Exchange through an IPO (ILA.AX), raising AUD 7.5MM to finance Phase 2b and Phase 3 clinical trials.
Aurea lead the Series-C financing round and is a currently a Common Stock holder in Island Pharmaceuticals.
Gene Tether
GeneTether is at the forefront of gene-editing technologies intended for therapeutic applications hold IP in technology using CRISPR/Cas, TALEN, and Zinc-Finger.
Aurea was a key investor in Series-A funding round to finance the company in the pre-clinical trials phase.

Andre Fraga
Founding Partner
Mr. Fraga is the founding partner of Aurea Holdings with over 20 years of experience in M&A transactions, Strategy and Business Development first in the Petrochemical sector and later in Renewable Energy leading transactions of over 6GW.
Mr. Fraga has established several ventures, including Renovatio Trading Americas and Renovatio Eco-Solutions in Colombia, a premier electrical provider and renewable developer in the Colombian market. More recently, he has been active in biotech, pharmaceuticals and cannabis, holding board positions in several of those ventures.
André Fraga obtained his undergraduate in Business Studies from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, holds an International MBA from Instituto de Empresa (IE) and has undertaken a Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School.
Christopher Selner
Partner
Mr. Selner has over 15 years experience mainly in the international Oil & Gas industry responsible for managing the complete proposal cycle and the commercial, technical and legal/financial teams for RFPs to 2 billion USD largely in the downstream Refining and Petrochemical sectors. Experience with major clients in USA and Canada, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
He acquired his university degree in Business Management and Spanish from CSB/SJU University and completed his MBA at Instituto de Empresa.
